Quiksilver came to us for a way to process orders and manage inventory for their 100000+ SKUs, organ ized by category and season, that performed perfectly across their 940 stores all over the world. The app needed to integrate with their POS and SAP and have a beautiful and intuitive UI that their sales team could learn to use quickly and efficiently, plus provide reliable shopping cart functionality. CitrusBits created a blazingly efficient iPad app that connects seamlessly with Quicksilver’s existing technology for order processing. The platform isn’t just amazingly quick – it’s also incredibly powerful. Inventory can be managed in bulk, with effortless multitasking. We know that enterprise technology transitions can be challenging, and that enterprise software needs to last to provide the best ROI. That’s why we created a solution with longevity through great design, meticulous planning and information architecture, and rigorous code review. We expect Quiksilver to thrive on this technology for the next decade. Read the case study here: https://citrusbits.com/portfolio/quiksilver/

DuPont was preparing to open an Innovation Center in Silicon Valley (CA) that would be home to several high-tech engineering labs. The Innovation Center would host customers, partners, and collaborating scientists, providing a convenient way to foster collaboration on cutting-edge applications for DuPont materials. To help guests get better acquainted with the Innovation Center and its various labs, DuPont asked CitrusBits to build an augmented reality (AR) experience to allow guests – both in-person and virtual – to explore the labs while mitigating confidentiality concerns. Importantly, the AR experience needed to generate an immediate “wow factor” that epitomized the myriad of innovative capabilities within the labs. With more than 50 ASUCLA-run eateries, shops, and other facilities on a university campus used by more than 40,000 registered students, it can be challenging to understand all the available options. To address this challenge, ASUCLA wanted to build a mobile app to help students discover and explore the full range of retail, dining, and study options on campus. With just two more months before incoming freshmen were to to spill onto campus for orientation activities – the best opportunity to promote the app — ASUCLA considered 10 different vendors and decided to partner with CitrusBits, the only vendor they could trust to deliver on schedule. By combining the most advanced mobile virtual reality (VR) technology with cutting-edge medical research, IrisVision lets people who suffer from vision impairment see their loved ones’ faces and function independently again. IrisVision was looking for a mobile application partner to create the software that powers the IrisVision device. Based on CitrusBits’ quick grasp of the project requirements and impressive portfolio, IrisVision decided to hire CitrusBits. The challenge? To create an intuitive mobile application that allows IrisVision’s life-changing adaptive technology to be used daily by users with varying levels of technical sophistication. The IrisVision app was developed for the Samsung GearVR and required innovative customization beyond the standard API provided. We worked in close collaboration with medical giants like Johns Hopkins, UC Berkeley, and Stanford University and leveraged their powerful insights into this stunning app. The result was an extraordinary system that allows users to zoom in on far away objects or family members’ faces with IrisVision’s proprietary IrisBubbleTM view, which allows users to see objects up close without losing context of the overall scene. Within this 26,000-employee global conglomerate is the Harman Embedded Audio team, a team of the world’s best audio engineers that creates hardware and software audio solutions for consumer electronics, IoT, and other audio-enabled devices. Harman hired CitrusBits to build an Android-based demo app for the Harman Embedded Audio Team’s new audio-enhancing software, AudioEFX. The demo app needed to showcase the substantial audio enhancements AudioEFX provide relative to normal audio. The Harman team had considered numerous other app development agencies across the US for this project, but they ultimately felt the most confident in CitrusBits’ ability to deliver a bug-free app on time, with the powerful user experience necessary to make a sales impact. Several of Zoetis’ animal health diagnosis products – benchtop blood and chemistry analyzers, for example — are too bulky/heavy for sales reps to bring to customers’ offices and trade shows for sales demos. This presents a significant business challenge, as many customers simply are not willing to purchase such significant machinery sight-unseen. To address this, Zoetis partnered with CitrusBits to create three augmented reality experiences that would allow potential clients to virtually demo each product, as if the products were physically right in front of them. In order for this solution to succeed, the challenge here was twofold: Zoetis needed the experiences to be (1) incredibly impressive with hyper-realistic, 3D models you could interact with and inspect from different angles, but also (2) be medically and scientifically accurate in their depiction of common lab procedures. A vegan member of the CitrusBits team who was already a Kristina follower was fortunate enough to have a chance conversation with Kristina at a local vegan event. One discussion led to another, and CitrusBits was soon hired to bring Kristina’s innovative content and the FullyRaw lifestyle to iOS mobile devices. As the subject matter expert, Kristina would focus on providing exceptional content for the app, while CitrusBits would create the perfect mobile experience to engage, delight, and grow Kristina’s follower base. Given the abundance of FullyRaw content spread across all of Kristina’s various social and web platforms, we knew that the mobile app had to bring all of that wonderful content together in an easy-to-use, organized app — free of clutter and confusion. A simple and intuitive interface belies a veritable feast of features: recipes, videos, shopping lists, challenges, and more. Read the case study here: https://citrusbits.com/portfolio/fullyrawapp/

This was achieved with beauty and clarity, empowering patients with actionable insights into their health and well-being. The app was engineered with patient privacy in mind, making it Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliant. CitrusBits collaborated with the founders of chemoWave – cancer survivors themselves – to create a virtual advocate that helps patients take control of their chemotherapy journey. chemoWave organizes data such as planned meals, exercise, treatment schedules, and more. They provide their 2000+ customers with skills, personalities, and aptitudes tests for over 1,100 job profiles. Criteria wanted to create a way to help connect talented job seekers with opportunities. We helped Criteria build JobFlare to engage with job seekers using cognitive games and connect those job seekers to opportunities. JobFlare is a ground-breaking iOS mobile app that allows job searchers to play short 90-second games which measure attributes including general mental fitness, verbal and math skills. We don’t think a job evaluation should be another job, so JobFlare uses charming graphics and playful characters in the games to make the tests a pleasant and exciting experience. Users can see their own scores over time and how they performed compared to other users in the same category. At the same time, they will receive emails about relevant job opportunities based on their profile. Top scorers may get connected to exclusive job opportunities!

Reviews were showing that users w ere not satisfied with the previous iteration of their app, which lacked the multilingual and international capabilities a true ruler should have. Maintaining stellar performance when handling a large number of users is always a challenge, and in this case, our quest was even more epic because we had to conquer dozens of countries (many of which suffer from unreliable mobile data reception). We implemented sophisticated image handling, data synchronization, GPS, utilization of offline user environments, and many more advanced techniques to keep the app working quickly and beautifully everywhere – all at a minimum download size. In addition to the highly-scalable technologies we implemented to make the user experience fantastic, we also made a robust admin portal. Menu items, coupons, restaurant locations, and other data that needs to be managed on a store-by-store basis is handled elegantly with a beautiful web portal so managers have 100% control over what to show their users. The Erupt app would foster healthy and intelligent discussion (via debates) among young people on pressing societal issues, mediated by non-partisan moderators. The Erupt app would center around a reliable and scalable live video and VOD experience, along with a captivating user experience for debate participants and viewers alike – all while keeping things simple for users venturing into this exciting new format. Our design and development teams broke huddle and went to work respectively on (a) providing a simple-to-use, addictive user experience for debate participants and viewers alike, and (b) building reliable, scalable, and high-performing live streaming and VOD capabilities, along with critical debate moderation, program schedule, and other administrative capabilities.
